At St. Matthew, we warmly welcome Father Herbert Burke, who has been appointed Parochial Vicar, and Deacon Patrick Martin, who will be ordained to the priesthood in the spring of 2027 and will serve at St. Matthew during the summer months.
We also extend a warm welcome to Father Benjamin Roberts, who has been appointed to serve the Catholic Community of Waxhaw, along with Father James Tweed, as Parochial Vicar following his recent ordination.
Please join us in keeping all of our priests and deacons in your prayers as they begin these new assignments. We look forward to the many blessings their ministry will bring to our parish communities.

Beginning July 1, the Waxhaw campus will be known as the Catholic Community of Waxhaw during this time of transition. This new name reflects an important milestone as the community prepares for its future as an independent parish.
We are also delighted to announce that, beginning July 1, the Catholic Community of Waxhaw will offer daily Mass, providing more opportunities to gather in prayer throughout the week. In addition, the Sunday 9:30 am Mass will move to 9 am.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is here, and we are excited to welcome the participants and volunteers to campus for a fun-filled week of faith, friendship and adventure.
As you visit St. Matthew during VBS, we ask everyone to please use extra caution when driving through the parking lot. There will be more children, families and volunteers on campus than usual during the day, and your attentiveness helps keep everyone safe.

It takes 621 volunteers to support our Faith Formation and youth programs each year, and we are still seeking 400 more volunteers!
Catechists are provided with step-by-step lesson guides for every session, making it easy to share God's Word and pass on the teachings of our Catholic faith. No teaching experience is required.
In addition to catechists, there are many other volunteer opportunities available. We would love to learn more about your interests and gifts so we can help match you with a role you will enjoy.
As a thank-you for serving, volunteers who have children or grandchildren enrolled in the program receive priority registration, and all Faith Formation fees are waived. For more information about volunteering, please contact Michelle at mlyberg@stmatthewcatholic.org.
